-

Tom Precious (pictured below) shone with bat and ball as Scarborough CC 2nds bagged their first win of the season, a 38-run success in York Division 1 East at Hornsea on Saturday, writes Charlie Hopper.

Nick Zakrzewski’s team were bowled out for 192, Edward Hopper (48) and Precious (72) were the pick of the batters.

Precious (3-43), Charlie Hopper (3-5) and Adam Newington (2-29) ensured that the hosts fell short, having slipped from

119-4 to 154 all out.

Zakrzewski’s side are on the road again on Saturday, at Londesborough Park.

Scarborough CC’ s first team slipped to their first YPLN defeat of the season by four wickets at home to Stamford Bridge.

Scarborough slipped to 14-3 and 76-6 before a partnership of 89 between Roberts (37) and Pete Rinke (53) rescued the North Marine Road outfit to 202 all out.

William Robertson (532) and James Pick (3-24) were the top bowlers.

Bridge were then reduced to 59-4 as James Wainman (2-49) and a wicket apiece for Jack Holt and Rinke gave Scarborough hope. But a knock from Fletcher Coutts (66no) and Ameya Joshi (43) saw the visitors home with four overs remaining.

Roberts’ side welcome Acomb to North Marine Road on Saturday, as they look to bounce back.

Folkton & Flixton suffered a seven-wicket loss in the Premier Division at home to Sessay.

Will Norman top scored for the home side with an unbeaten 65 and James Clark made 39 in a total of 221-8, Joe Watson the pick of the bowlers with 3-60.

Matthew Till (64) made a half-century and Craig Ross (44) but it was Mark Jackson’s 70 not out that fired the side to victory with seven wickets and more than 10 overs to spare.

Folkton & Flixton play host to Studley Royal this weekend.
