Cameron’s century fires Flixton 2nds to away win

Cameron Anderson’s superb innings of 121 from 100 balls helped Folkton & Flixton 2nds to a 153-run win at Sewerby in Division One.

Flixton looked in deep trouble at 26-5 but a stunning stand of 173 for the sixth wicket between Anderson (pictured right) and Noman Shabir (58) helped them reach 245 all out.

Ted Traves took a cracking 5-22 for Sewerby.

Chris Mann and Lee Elvidge then took three wickets apiece as Sewerby were all out for 92 in 36 overs, Michael Artley top-scoring with 30.

Heslerton secured a 126run win at home to Thornton Dale.

Skipper Tom Benthall led by example with 81no, with Ryan Wharton adding 64 and Kristian Wilkinson 58 in their 250-2.

Marc Dring (3-7), Harry

Edwards (3-39) and Matty Webster (3-20) helped dismiss Dale for 124, Tom Snowdon top scoring with 25.

Settringto­n had to dig deep for a two-wicket home win against Forge Valley.

Skipper Sean Pinder top scored with 57 for Valley, John Flinton also making 29, but they slipped from 103-1 to 155 all out, Jack Corner and Eddy Rounthwait­e snapping up three wickets apiece.

Alex Glass kept Valley in the game with 5-25, but 48 not out from captain Stephen Beal made sure of the win with two wickets and 8.4 overs to spare, Richard Reynolds having earlier hit 36.

Doug Bentley’s 89, along with four wickets apiece from Sam Burns and Ryan Boyes earned Great Habton a 124run success at Sherburn.

Habton posted 207-5 thanks in main to Bentley and the hosts were then skittled for 83.

Wykeham racked up a nine-wicket win at home to Cayton 2nds.

Adam Eustace and Tom Owen took three wickets each as Wykeham dismissed Cayton for 130, Toby Jones hitting 38.

An opening stand of 93 between Ezra Pashby (49) and Mike Dugdale secured the win for the hosts.

Forge Valley 2nds edged a one-wicket win at home to Scarboroug­h 3rds in Division Four.

Daniel Boyes took 5-39 as Scarboroug­h were all out for 138, Jack Ingle scoring 41.

Skipper Steve Boyes then scored 50 in reply as 10-man Valley edged home.

Mark Sayers’ five-wicket haul and Jes Riley’s 50 helped Cayton 3rds to a four-wicket win at Scalby 3rds.

Sayers took 5-28 as Scalby were all out for 110, then Riley’s 50 saw Cayton home despite three wickets from Adie Hollingswo­rth.

Brompton 2nds eased to an eight-wicket success at Wykeham 3rds.

Veterans Chris Soulsby (32) and Robin Shepherdso­n (27) led the way as Wykeham reached 126-6 from 40 overs, Gary Newton taking 3-26 for the visitors.

Ben Atkinson hammered 58 not out and Jay Wilson 36 not out to wrap up the victory for Brompton.

Goathland cruised to a 145-run win at home to Malton & Old Malton 4ths, while Bridlingto­n 3rds secured a four-wicket triumph at Thornton Dale 2nds.

Ganton 2nds conceded their game at home to Flamboroug­h.

On Sunday, Sherburn 2nds won 97 runs at home to Ravenscar 2nds thanks to a cracking 112 not out from Ash Oldroyd.

Skipper Matthew Lickes retired not out on 54 for Sherburn and Connor Miles added 39 as they piled on 239-6 from 40 overs, Gerald Smith taking 4-57.

Smith also top scored with 38 in reply as Ravenscar limped to 142-5, Pete Wannop hitting 24 and Robin Worthy taking three wickets.
