TV’s Fern in town to film art challenge

TV presenter Fern Britton was in Scarborough at the weekend as filming took place for a new art challenge.

Four amateur artists were filmed on Sunday for the making of a new 20-part Channel 5 series which is hosted by Fern.

She and the TV crew enjoyed sunny weather as they filmed on Scarborough Spa’s roof terrace, and at Peasholm Park.

The team were filming Watercolour Challenge, a reboot of the 1990s Channel 4 programme that was presented by Hannah Gordon.

ITV Studios, which handles international distribution of Watercolour Challenge, says on its website: “The refreshed format will retain the brand’s original warmth, with artists competing brush to brush to see if they have what it takes to capture the beauty of Britain.

The artists painted the classic South Bay view, and in Peasholm.
