League bowling started this week at Seamer & District Flat Green Bowls Club, the action began with matches against South Cliff in the Veterans League and Burniston in the Aussie Pairs League.

Both were away and saw debuts for two new bowlers Sue and Dave Bond who acquitted themselves well and should prove to be competent bowlers with increasing experience.

Seamer won by 61 shots (6 points) to South Cliff 46 shots (2 points), and the best rink was Steve Short, Ian Thornton and Peter Cross who won 23-12.

The next game ended up Seamer 42 shots (2 points) v Burniston 50 shots (4 points), with a best rink of Kathy Short and Derek Everson who won 19-11.

On Sunday the club held their first social bowling event.

On a cold afternoon in a chill wind 16 bowlers completed three rounds bowling at target mats. They were encouraged by an equal number of well wrapped up club members and supporters.
