Research shows the number of people living with atrial fibrillation (AF) – a dangerous heart rhythm condition and a major cause of stroke – has increased by 72 per cent in England over the last two decades.

My mother had atrial fibrillation and had a stroke which landed her in a nursing home for seven years. I think the danger of this is now much more realised than it was in 2007.

Liz Carnell

I have AF, I was diagnosed in January 2021. I had strange irregular heart rate, sometimes feeling the heart race, then feeling like it stopped, then a sudden thud in my chest. I have been on warfarin since, this is to thin the blood to help avoid strokes.

Marilyn Earp

I have AF and was diagnosed in July 2018 before the Covid vaccine. It’s a horrible feeling when your heart starts to race and pump erratically.

Jo Walker

I was diagnosed in December 2009 after a bad case of pneumonia. I take medication to control it. To be honest it’s more unnerving when I’m not in AF as I’m so used to the fast heart feeling.

Unbelievable Jeff! And not in a good way, sorry to hear the news! Whilst not being a massive sports fan he brought tears of laughter to my face with his witty commentary. Much love Chris. Top fella Kammy.

Peter Cunningham

Kammy. The legend. I wish him all the best.

John Christopher

Over 600 games for various clubs. As I remember, not the greatest ability but consistent, knew his limitations and did his job well most of the time. Sad to hear about his health issues, which I assume is why he’s not staying at Sky – always entertaining, and could brighten up even the dullest of games with him punditry. Thanks Kammy, good luck.
