Community library

In May 2012 Derwent Valley BRIDGE Community Library opened its doors as the first entirely volunteer run community library in this area, 10 years later and we are still here providing an invaluable service to the villages along the Derwent Valley. What an achievement and testament to the hard work of the volunteers who have developed the community library into a place where all are welcome.

Books, computers, children’s activities, talks, social events, fundraising activities have all played a part in making the library a real resource for the local community.

We have bounced back after the pandemic and are holding a coffee morning on Saturday, May 14, 10am to 12 noon, to celebrate our 10th anniversary. All welcome.

Children from the Rainbows, the Happy Hour Library Pre-School Group and the Derwent Ducklings Baby and Toddler Group have been busy planting runner bean and sunflower seeds to grow in the library garden.
