Paddlers raise ‘oarsome’ sum for charities
£18,000 from Rotary club’s dragon-boat races
The Scarborough Cavaliers Rotary Club’s dragon boat racing at North Yorkshire Water Park, Wykeham, raised an impressive £18,000 for several charities.
Twenty four gutsy teams competed on what was a gusty June day.
The winners of the grand final were Form 360 Fitness Centre, just pipping Barons Health Fitness Centre to take the trophy.
The event began in 2012 and since then has raised more than £60,000 for local and national charities.
