Cup double for South Cliff ace Patcharin
Patcharin Harris was crowned Ladies 2022 Club Champion last Tuesday in the South Cliff Golf Club’s annual two round gross competition.
The rain-starved course playing long and tough, and this made for a good test of golf, on yet another dry and sunny day.
Patcharin played very well in the morning round with a score of 86, which included a total of nine pars.
She backed this up with a 93 in the afternoon giving a winning total of 179 to secure the silverware.
Runner-up Alison Lockwood, the former champion, scored an 88 in the morning and a 94 in the afternoon.
As well as the gross competition, the same field of south Cliff GC ladies also compete for The Committee Cup, a 36-hole handicap trophy.
In a remarkable feat, this was also won by Patcharin Harris, off a 19 handicap, with net scores of 67 and 74.
The runner-up was Kate Owen with scores of 91 (18) net 73 in the morning, and then a 97 net 79 in the afternoon.
The ladies of South Cliff played their August stableford a week before the club championship.
The Division One winner was Lady Captain Gloria Pickering with 31 points, defeating Ali Lockwood by a single point.
Janet Howes won Division Two with 33 points.
Lindsey Lee was the Division Two runner-up on 30 points
Judy Craft was the winner of Division Three with a total of 31 points, defeating Karen Blake by four points.
