Flixton, Snainton, Cayton crowned Evening champions

Flixton secured the AndyHire Scarboroug­h & District Evening Cricket League Division A title after a nine-wicket win at Brompton in the final round of matches.

Flixton teenager Calum Hatton took 3-10 and his older brother Elliot 2-28 as the hosts were dismissed for 112, Joe Barker hitting 48.

A 91-run second-wicket stand between opener

James Clark (57no) and Harry Walmsley (50no) saw the visitors race to victory with 116-1 off 6.4 overs, Clark hammering four sixes and seven fours in his 24-ball innings and Walmsley smashing three sixes and seven fours in his 23 balls at the crease.

Second-placed Staxton needed Flixton to lose as well as them beating Heslerton, and Staxton’s four-run loss at Sand Lane confirmed they would finish as runners-up.

Kristian Wilkinson bagged 3-17 as Staxton posted 83-8 and then hit 26no, and Sam Triffitt 40, as Heslerton won with 87-2 of 9.1 overs.

Division B champions Snainton finished their season with a four-run win on the road at Cloughton.

Opener Jack Oakley topscored with 30 as the visitors posted 124-6, Tom Dick bagging 3-25.

All-rounder Michael Kipling was the top Snainton bowler with 3-17 as Cloughton fell agonisingl­y short on 120-6, Jacob Codling top-scoring with 47.

Cayton confirmed their Division C title success with a 69-run home win against Muston.

Connor Davison smashed 46no and Jake Seastron 32 as the hosts made 127-4.

Toby Jones then snapped up a brilliant 4-7 as Muston were skittled for 57, Austin Thompson taking 3-16.
