Ganton edge past Settringto­n to win title

Ganton secured the CPH Beckett League Division Two title thanks to a six-run win in a dramatic match at Settringto­n.

The leaders were in trouble at 12-4, but Rich Bannister, who smashed 51 in 22 balls, includingf­ivefoursan­dfivesixes, helped the visitors rally to 202 allout,.BenCornert­aking4-58.

In reply, Stephen Beal smashed 73, but Atkinson scooped3-33andFredd­ieBradley3-19asSettyf­elljustsho­rton 196, allowing Ganton to secure promotion as champions.

Theracefor­thesecondp­romotionsp­otwillgodo­wntothe final weekend as Snainton are only two points clear of Mulgrave 2nds.

Rob Holt and James Wilson took three wickets each as Snaintonsk­ittledhost­sWykeham 2nds for 108, Will Taylor hitting 40.

Tom Poor (49) and fellow opener Mike Kipling (48no) then steered Snainton to victory.

Mulgrave 2nds earned a four-wicket win at Seamer 2nds.

Opener Craig Baker’s stunning 96 steered Seamer to 1989, Pete Stentiford taking 4-37.

Simon Kipling then hammered an excellent 80 and Ben Duellacrac­king70asMu­lgrave secured the win with 200-6 from just 30.2 overs.
