Charity day at pub
A fundraising event takes place this weekend in aid of Scarborough Survivors.
The New Tavern pub, on Falsgrave Road, Scarborough, are holding the fundraising day on Sunday September 4 to raise money for the local mental health charity.
It is hoped the day will raise more than £2,000, with a large number of local businesses willing to support the day through raffle donations.
A charity football match at the Flamingo Land stadium, from 12pm, will see some of the players there in their 60s and 70s.
This will be followed by a barbecue at The New Tavern from 2pm and a raffle.
Local musician Phil Ranger will perform a free gig during the afternoon.
The initial aim was to raise £1,000 but the generous sponsorship of the footballers, and raffle entries, mean that should be surpassed, say organisers.
