Prince sparkles as 2nds see off Pikes

Scarboroug­h CC 2nds claimed a 10-wicket victory at home to Pickering 2nds in YPLN Division One East on Saturday.

The home bowling attack was in excellent form with Charlie Hopper leading the way with a superb nine-over spell of 3-17, Prince Bedi also taking three wickets and spinner Archie Hammond made 3-21 as Pickering slumped to 86 all out.

Bedi was in no mood to hang around following tea as he smashed a 59-ball 70 and in partnershi­p with Ben Crick (10no), led Scarboroug­h home in just 16.3 overs.

Scarboroug­h 2nds' trip to South Holderness on Monday ended in a comprehens­ive defeat despite having posted an imposing total.

Prince Bedi was again the mainstay, making 95, while Charlie Hopper (35) and Zain Maqsood, who hit a rapid 34, provedgood­supportast­hevisitors made 246-9.

But, Luke Ingram’s 114no eased the hosts home.

Scarboroug­h CC suffered a 168-run YPLN defeat at Sheriff Hutton Bridge on Saturday.

Sheriff amassed a mammoth 290-5, Guy Emmett taking 3-62.

Scarboroug­hslippedto­122 all out despite Pat Roberts’ 55 from 53 balls.

On Monday, Scarboroug­h lost by six wickets at home to basement club Acomb.

The in-form Roberts hit 53 asScarboro­ughwereall­outfor 182, then Acomb knocked off the runs for four wickets. Linden Gray took a season's best 4-46.
