Rhona races to Tholthorpe 10K victory

Five Scarboroug­h AC members competed in the annual Tholthorpe 10K Road Race that incorporat­ed the North Yorkshire Road Race Championsh­ips for the distance.

Rhona Marshall, who was the overall female runner-up last year, was the clear winner this year after finishing over three minutes ahead of the runner-up in 40.36.

She was followed by her mother Sue Haslam who retained her Over-65 title, when finishing sixth female overall 116 in 45.35.

Jennie Kettlewell closed in for the team that was sixth in a PB time of 59.55.

Sally Kingscot followed in 60.12 and Harry Whitehouse completed the Scarboroug­h entry in 61.58

Neil Scruton competed in the Major Stone Half-Marathon based at the village of Lockington near Hull.

After finishing 44 th overall of 141 in 1.38, he was awarded the Over-70 prize for a second consecutiv­e year.

Simon Neal competed in the Middlesbor­ough 10K Road Race.

He finished 118th overall of 1,011 in a PB time of 44.23

Andrew C hid wick competed in the Wetherby 10 K Road Race.

He finished 183rd overall of 436 in a PB time of 53.42

Lancashire based Kevin Hutchings competed in the Little borough Lions 5 K Road Race.

He achieved a PB for the distance of 23.58 after finishing 41st overall of 103

Three club members competed in the 5K Beach Race on the sands at Bridlingto­n

Evelyn Fordyce led the trio after finishing 45th female overall of 96 in 36.08.

She was followed by Joanne Hopkins in 77 th and Mary Slat erin 79 th.
