Railway gala days

The annual North Bay Railway Gala weekend takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25.

All engines will be running all day.

Local author Joe Coates will be there on the Saturday to promote his latest North Bay Tales book, “All your Favourite Engines at North Bay Railway”.

Joe said: “The book has been ready for two years, though strict Covid restrictions in the early days and then me having a very difficult time with my health has kept the books waiting their time.

"Covid and recent changes at the railway have meant that many of the North Bay Railway book characters and engines are no longer there. The series of 10 books belong to the era 2008 to 2020. Thousands of copies have been sold, and I think the new book will be the last in the series”.
