MEETINGS RESUME – This year, 2022, marks the 75th anniversar­y of the Scarboroug­h Archaeolog­ical and Historical Society.

After two years of online lectures we now return to our Monday meetings in Scarboroug­h Library at 7.30pm. Lectures are free to members and £3 to nonmembers.

The first lecture is on October 10 entitled Ancient Egypt by the Sea by Joann Fletcher.

Other lectures are: October

17 – Tiger Skins, Tapestries and Tree-planting: The Work of a National Trust Curator by Jonathan Wallis; November 7 – 75 Years of the Scarboroug­h Archaeolog­ical and Historical Society by Chris Hall; November 14 – Mapping Viking Settlement in Eastern Yorkshire by Stuart Wrathmell; November 28 – The Work and Collection­s of the Brontë Parsonage Museum by Ann Dinsdale; December 12 – Before the Bombardmen­t: MI5 and the German Invasion of Britain by Nicholas Hiley.
