Chloe leads the way with superb time at London Marathon
Four Scarborough Athletic Club members joined over 40,000 runners at the 42nd London Marathon, which was postponed from April, and this affected runners who had booked alternative marathons in the autumn months.
The quartet was led by 29-year-old Chloe Pickering, who was running in only her second marathon after her debut at Chester last October.
Chloe achieved a Personal
Best(PB)timeof3.19whichwas well inside the qualifying time for an entry in the 2023 London Marathon as a Good for Age senior athlete. Her time was only five minutes short of a Championship Entry, which thisyearwas3hours14andwill be her future target.

Dale Hepples who competed as an Over-45, was next to finish and well up the massive field in 3 hours 35.
Caroline Metcalf, competinginonlyherthirdmarathon, madeaverygoodLondonMarathon debut as an O45, when finishing in 4 hours 49.
Eight club members competed in the Loch Ness Marathon at Inverness, which attracted 2,556 runners.
Nicola Doody and Ruth Frank finished together in 4 hours 29 minutes and were both well up in their age groups.
Adrian Atkinson finished his third marathon in 4 hours 44, Andre Doody finished his second marathon in 5.45.

Neil and Margaret Scruton competed in the River Ness 10-kilometre Road Race also at Inverness.

Harry Whitehouse competed in the Zetland10Kroad raceandfinished145thoverall of 251 in 62.01.
Twelve SAC members took part in the North Yorkshire Water Park Parkrun.
Kathryn Wills led all the club members after finishing 10th female overall of 50. Pete Barnard was the first of the club’s four men and was 51st overall of 108 and 6th Over-55.

PaulineElliotttwasthefirst club member, finishing 32nd of 88 females and 5th Over-40.
She was followed by Linda Hinchliffe 6th Over-50, Lesley Bayes 3rd Over-70, Pat Keenan 4th Over-70, Mary Slater 5th Over-70.
