Double tops for all-round stars Prince and Breidyn

The team relied heavily on the superb batting from the young pairing of Breidyn Schaper and opener Duncan Brown.
The latter ended the campaign with 747 runs, which included five half centuries and one brilliant hundred, while Schaper amassed 955 runs in seventeen innings with three wonderful centuries at a remarkable average of 86.82 and a strike rate over 80.
Oli Stephenson played some fine innings, as did Romario Roach (average 33.00) whose stylish stroke play was missed for half the campaign.
Youngsters Ed Hopper and Hayden Williamson gave glimpses of their batting potential and will only benefit from the experience of a run of matches at this level.
Former skipper Pat Roberts found form in the second halfoftheseason,whileLinden Grayenhancedhisall-rounder status by contributing useful runs as he averaged 24.78.
Schaper also finished as leading wicket taker, his left arm spin claiming 27 wickets at 19.11. Ben Elvidge and Gray also reached the 20 wicket
mark and in the main bowled with good control.
Only Dan Robson, who produced a couple of stunning spellsincluding5-9versusSessay, reached 15 wickets from the pace attack and the season longabsenceofconsistentnew ball bowler Jack Holt was evident.

Scarborough 2nds, under thestewardshipofSamCarver, used 34 players during the season as continuity of selection
proved tricky, maybe being a contributing factor in them finishing joint ninth in Division One East, but offering opportunity to younger players mayproveadvantageousinthe long term.
The loss of Williamson and Ed Hopper to first XI duties were key. Prince Bedi was the standout performer with both bat and ball.
The all-rounder amassed
895 runs at an average of 59.67, with a season's best of 187 against South Holderness in June. He also claimed 27 wickets to lead the bowling charts.
Carver (461 runs) enjoyed a good summer with the bat and alsorecorded18wickets,while Brad Milburn contributed 451 runs.
Keeper Tom Bussey also chipped in with valuable runs and his glovework was as solid
as ever, with 24 victims.
