GIG IN THE CHURCH – On Saturday, October 15, from 7.30pm, St Hilda’s Church, Ravenscar, will be holding a social evening with local band Best Served Cold playing music from across the decades.

Wear your stoutest footwear, and you may find a stick or walking pole useful. If wet in the hall; Mike will talk about the history of the Bell Hill area.

MOORLAND RAILWAY – The organisers of the charity cream teas that were held at Moorland House through the summer would like to thank all those dedicated volunteers who made it all happen, and all who came and supported.

The total amount raised was just over £5,000 and five charities benefited. FLASK HARVEST – There will be a harvest festival service followed by a supper and auction at the Flask Inn, Fylingdale­s, on Sunday October 16, 6pm.

The service will be led by Canon Christophe­r Coates, and the proceeds will be given to British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

The live band and dance at St Hilda’s on October 15 has been cancelled.
