Reading champion

I HAVE started going to Wellington Vale care home to read to the residents every fortnight.

It started when we went to their summer fete and I suggested reading to the people there.

I like to choose picture books as I have loads to pick from.

I have read stories by Benji Davies, David Litchfield, Yuval Zommer and Julia Donaldson. My dad posted a picture of me on Twitter reading to the

residents and this had 28,000 likes and over 800 comments, including comments from Benji Davies, David Litchfield and Michael Rosen!

I also went up in an assembly to tell my school about what I’ve been doing. I enjoy going there because they love getting visitors and I love reading!

We sometimes talk about what I have been doing in school, and I know it makes them happy.

I think that more people should help out in their local area if

they get the chance.
