Lockey and Wheatman impress in Canicross events

Two Scarboroug­h Athletic Club members competed in Canicross, running with dogs, events.

Victoria Lockey competed with her three dogs Dasher, Molly and Wednesday in Canicross Midlands League races at Box End Water Park in Bedford.

In her three races over two days, her best result was a third place in a 3km Canicross two-dog Short Course with Dasher and Molly.

Other results included: 6th in Ods and Bods which is 1.5km with Wednesday, 8th in Bikejor short course of 3km with Dasher.

Victoria Lockey and Jenna Wheatman competed in a Canix UK league fixture held in Dalby Forest over two days.

Results: Jenna with Caster, second place in the 5km Female Canicross, Victoria with Molly and Wednesday, third place in the Xtreme Female 2 dog 5km, Victoria and Dasher first place in the Short Course 2.5km.

Eleven SAC members took part in the North Yorkshire Water Park Parkrun.

Duncan Smart was first for the club when finishing 10th overall of 139.

Nikky Carr Walls was second female overall of 71.

Six members took part in Sewerby Parkrun.

Monty Kettlewell was first for the club in 94th overall of 143 and 5th 11-14.

Jennie Kettlewell was 26th female of 85 and third Over-45.

Other results: Pauline Elliot 5th Over-40, A. Keenan 1st Over-75 Male,

P. Keenan 3rd Over 70, M.Slater 4th Over-70.

Three members took part in the latest Dalby Forest Parkrun.

David Fox was 40th overall of 104 and second Over-70.

Harry Whitehouse was the third Over-70 and Mitchell England third 1114.

At Woodhouse Moor Leeds Parkrun, Megan Lewis was the first female overall of 197.

At Aberdeen Parkrun, Ruth Frank was 12th female overall of 59 and first Over-50.
