FIVE THINGS FOR YOUR WEEK...
STREAMING
The Devil’s Hour, Amazon Prime, streaming now
You might think that midnight is spooky o’clock, but the true ‘devil’s hour’ is 3.33am – and in this scary new Prime series, Lucy (played by Jessica Raine) is plagued by terrifying visions that wake her every night at exactly this time. Her waking life isn’t any less creepy, either: her eight-year-old son seems withdrawn and without emotion; her mother, meanwhile, is seen speaking to empty chairs. It’s only when Lucy’s name is linked to a string of murders in the area, and a suspicious recluse played by Peter Capaldi arrives in town, that she might start to get some insight into what exactly is happening to her family. Nikesh Patel co-stars as a police detective determined to close the book on the killings.
MUSIC
Ed Sheeran at the BBC, BBC2, 8.35pm, Saturday
However you choose to measure it, Ed Sheeran is one of Britain’s most successful musicians. Over the course of his career, he’s had 13 number ones, sold 150 million records worldwide and been named Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the decade. He’s also appeared on the BBC plenty of times, and this show
features some of his most memorable moments. Then there’s a break for Later… with Jools Holland before
Sheeran
night continues with a chance to see his headlining 2017 Glastonbury set.
FAMILY FUN
Strictly Come Dancing, BBC1, 6.50pm, Saturday
It’s been a theme-heavy few weeks in the ballroom, which has led to some surprising dance routines. Hamza Yassin recently picked up three 10s for a sensational salsa, but some viewers believe he should have got an equally high score for just managing to get through a Jurassic Park rumba in Movie Week. Then last week’s BBC centenary special saw the couples taking to the floor to the themes for
everything from Casualty to Blue Peter. So, expect some truly spooky choices this week as the remaining celebs once again raid the dressing up box for Halloween.
REALITY
I’m a Celebrity: All Time Funniest Moments, Channel 5, 8pm, Sunday
With the new series of the survival challenge on the way in the next few weeks, this programme looks at memorable Bushtucker Trials, conversations, bust-ups and moments of underhand trickery and extreme cowardice.
SPORT
NFL Live: Jacksonville Jaguars v Denver Broncos, ITV & STV, 1pm, Sunday
Following the Vikings v Saints and Giants v Packers games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the NFL UK Series arrives at Wembley Stadium as the Denver Broncos take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. With superstar quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Trevor Lawrence taking the field for the Broncos and Jaguars respectively, expect a compelling match-up between two teams that are hoping to make a serious impact this season. The Jaguars lost 23-13 to the Broncos at home in week two last season.
