Ladies Under-12s Reds net first win

-

Scarborough Ladies Under12s Reds secured their first win with an impressive performance at home to Bishopthorpe White Rose Purple in the City of York Girls Football League last Sunday.

All the Reds players were outstanding and played with such discipline in their respective positions.

The Reds goals were a great solo effort from Emily York, who looked dangerous all game, and Amiele Milton after getting in a great position from a cross into the box.

There were stand-out performances from Poppy Timmins who didn’t stop running and Issy Templeman who was solid in goal.

The Reds player of the match was shared between Layla Horne and Lilly Brown who were solid in defence.

Scarborough Ladies Under-14s maintained their winning start with a 5-1 home victory over Fulford.

The home team took the lead in the first minute when Jemima Chapman threaded a great through ball to Brooke Southren who finished well.

Scarborough then looked lethargic, but did add a second goal before the half-time interval through Rebecca Addison.

The second half saw a different Scarborough take the pitch as the home team raised the intensity of their play.

Alesha Grime, Lola Bayes and Gracie McLaughlin all came close to scoring, but found the visitors’ keeper in outstanding form.

The pressure eventually began to tell on the visitors, with Southren adding two more and the scoring was completed by a brilliant individual goal from Chapman.
