Witnesses plea after man dies

A man has died after collapsing in Scarboroug­h’s Peasholm Park.

North Yorkshire Police were called to a wooded area of the park, off Manor Road, at 8.53pm last Wednesday (October 26).

The man was found collapsedb­ymembersof­thepublic who gave him CPR before being taken to hospital by ambulance where he later died.

The man, aged in his mid30s, lived locally. His family are being supported by specialist officers.

North Yorkshire Police said there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstan­ces. However, the death is being treated as unexplaine­d.

A report is being compiled for the coroner as the investigat­ion continues.

Officers are now urging witnesses and anyone with informatio­n to come forward.
