1 Scarboroug­h Jazz Club

The Cask, Ramshill, Wednesday November 9, doors open at 7.45pm Trumpeter/vocalist Martin Jones is backed by the MG3. He has been entertaini­ng audiences with his relaxed trumpet and vocals for years. Starting with his school band in Hull, Martin honed his skills on the club and theatre circuits of Paris and London. Cabaret, session work, internatio­nal touring and performing at jazz festivals.

As a programme leader for East Riding College music department he is currently involved in developing a new jazz diploma and jazz summer school.

In the new jazz generation slot, the evening opens with piano and drums duo Theo & Moses playing an entirely improvised set.

Great double header with Canadian folk/roots singer songwriter Jeffery Straker whose piano-based musical style has drawn comparison­s to Elton John and Billy Joel and Scottish songwriter and multi-instrument­alist Malcolm MacWatt. Malcolm is a unique voice in British Folk/ Americana circles and local folk legend Eliza Carthy appeared on his last album.
