Helmsley Lido pool cover cuts costs

Helmsley Lido has installed a state-of-theart automated pool cover in a bid to help combat rising energy costs. The old pool cover was damaged by storms earlier in the year, prompting trustees to search for a more suitable alternative. The Kirkby Foundation met half of the cost of the new pool cover after trustees presented a business plan and financial accounts. The pool is now closed for winter. Trustees are appealing for donations towards a “floating board” to help injured swimmers. For more information email info@helmsley openairpool.org.
