Jewellers built upon its traditions

-

Bright & Sons has been a Scarborough institution for 165 years, which is why the recent refurbishment of the high-class jewellers and goldsmiths on St Nicholas Street paid careful attention to the store’s heritage.

Consequently, although new LED lighting shows off the displays to great effect, a new carpet has been fitted and point of sale materials renovated, the elegant Edwardian display cabinets remain in place, as do other familiar visual reminders of its distinguished history.

“We wanted to provide an up-todate environment for customers but, at the same time, retain the character of the store,” said manager Mark Nettleton.

“Features such as the big glass cabinets, the polished mahogany and the old safes are a major part of our identity and have been appreciated by generations of customers.

“We’re very conscious of our history and wanted to retain those links at the same time as upgrading the customer experience.”
