You can help local charity secure grant

-

Ian Whitfield, Chairperson, Scarborough Disability Action Group

A Scarborough disability charity is hoping to secure funds for its Treats project by bidding for a significant cash boost from Tesco.

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, the Bags of Help initiative, which sees grants of up to £1,500 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores awarded to local community groups.

Scarborough Disability Action Group is one of three groups shortlisted to receive the cash award, which they hope will fund an exciting programme of Treats

activities. With the funding they will create an expanding range of activities which will help the local community with issues of isolation and loneliness. It’s an exciting time for Scarborough Disability Action Group and this grant would go a long way in improving people’s lives and supporting the community.

We now need your help to make it happen. Please ask for a token and consider voting for us. Shoppers are being invited to head along to Scarborough Tesco stores to vote which are Scarborough Westwood Superstore, Tesco Express store Castle Road, Tesco Express store Burniston Road.
