TABLE TOP SALE – Table top sales will run every Sunday until the end of February excluding Christmas and New Year at Newby and Scalby Community Hall, Scalby Road. Doors open 10.30am1pm, admission 50p, free to children.

Includes bric-a-brac, crafts, health and wellbeing, antiques and more.

Tables still available for January and February, contact 07551 674542. COFFEE MORNING – A coffee morning will be held at Scalby Methodist Church on Saturday, December 3, to raise funds for The Samaritans.

Coffee and mince pies will be served, 10-11.30am, and there will be a cake stall and book stall. Admission will be by donation to The Samaritans. All welcome. ST MARK’S CHURCH – A Staxton Singers Christmas Special will be held on Sunday, December 11, 3pm. This is a free event, but donations welcome.

On Sunday, December 18, Cafe Church with a Christmas theme and crafts will be held from 10.30am, all ages welcome. In the evening Nine Lessons and Carols in candleligh­t will start at 6pm.

At St Luke's Church, Stepney Drive, on Saturday, December 10, a coffee morning will be held featuring “world class” cakes (according to the vicar's mum).

On Saturday, December 17, an atmospheri­c christingl­e for all ages takes place at 3.30pm (little ones can dress up as a king, angel, shepherd or a star).
