Scarborough Jazz Club 1

The Cask, Ramshill, Wednesday, March 6, doors open at 7.45pm Scarborough Jazz Club welcomes back the Gaz Hughes Trio. Riding on the success of their 2023 UK tour, the trio showcases eight original compositions from their latest album Nuclear Bebopalypse.

They pay homage to jazz legends, blending heritage with a modern twist that strikes the perfect balance between tradition and innovation. The tunes draw their influences of pianists Horace Silver and Bud Powell and a touch of Ellington too, but these are reference points and the compositions stand on their own merits. With three acclaimed albums under his belt, Gaz Hughes has established himself as one of the premier jazz drummers in the UK. The trio also features Andrzej Baranek on keyboard and Ed Harrison on bass.
