Cooper sparkles for Heslerton Hawks at Stamford Bridge

Heslerton Hawks Juniors Football Club Under-Sevens continued their run of scintillat­ing form on the road at Stamford Bridge Vikings last weekend.

The whole team worked especially hard and played some excellent football with hat-tricks from Valentine Davison and Trent Simpson along with a goal from player of the match Billy Cooper, writes Steve Allardice.

Heslerton Hornets Under-Eights travelled to newly-formed team Scalby Juniors.

Goals from Josh Brown, Finn Armistead and Blake Timms with a reply from the home team saw the Hornets go in at the break with the lead.

The second half saw George Harrison, William Flinton and Max Patterson all find the net as the Hornets

turned on the style. Armistead and Thomas Harrison got the man of the match awards.

A much improved performanc­e again from the Heslerton Juniors FC Under-11s Huskies as they welcomed West Pier Reds to Sand Lane.

Pier opened the scoring but Jacob Firby soon pulled one goal back to equalise.

The visiting team then scored again from a corner before George Jackson hit the crossbar.

Pier then went two goals clear only for Harvey Raine to half the deficit just before the break.

The second half saw Pier add a couple more to their total but the Huskies battled to the end. George Jackson got the man of the match award.

Brooklyn made the short trip to tackle Heslerton Juniors FC Under-11 Hunters for a local derby match. The away team ended up taking the plaudits at the final whistle after a fantastic game of football between the two teams.

Two goals for the impressive Toby Shearsmith saw him walk away with the man of the match award for the village team.

Under-13s Spiders kept their unbeaten run going with victory at Easingwold.

The home team were frustratin­g the Spiders until 10 minutes from time when goals from Alfie Marrington, Dexter Penny and Freddie Maw saw the Spiders make it 14 victories from 14 games so far this season and leave them just one point away from winning the league title.
