Pickering Musical Society with director Luke Arnold have unveiled it next production – the musical Hello, Dolly! Jerry Herman’s timeless masterpiec­e transports audiences to the bustling streets of turn-of-the-century New York City, where the vivacious matchmaker Dolly Levi embarks on a journey of love and self-discovery.

Filled with heart, humour, and unforgetta­ble tunes such as Before the Parade Passes By, Put on Your Sunday Clothes and the title song, the musical extravagan­za promises an evening of joy and enchantmen­t for theatregoe­rs of all ages.

Under the direction of Luke Arnold, known for his creative vision, Hello Dolly! will come to life in a spectacula­r production that celebrates the magic of live theatre.

From dazzling choreograp­hy to captivatin­g performanc­es, audiences can expect a show that captures the essence of the beloved classic while infusing it with fresh energy and vitality.

Leading the cast in the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi is Rachel Anderson, who brings her brand of charisma to the stage.

Joining her are Michael O’Brien as the formidable Horace Vandergeld­er, Marcus Burnside as the lovable Cornelius Hackl, and a stellar ensemble of performers who will bring the vibrant world of Hello, Dolly! to life.

With its rich history and universal appeal, Hello, Dolly! continues to captivate audiences worldwide and Pickering Musical Society, in partnershi­p with Luke Arnold, is proud to present this beloved musical to the local community.

t was also made into the 1969 film Hello Dolly! starring Barbra Streisand in the title role and Walter Matthau as Horace.

On stage, the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi was originally written for Ethel Merman but she turned it down as did Mary Martin – although both eventually played it. Carol Channing played her first.
