Walking And Hiking

-

The most popular destination for climbers is Ben Nevis, 1345m (4413ft). If you haven’t climbed the UK’S highest mountain and you’re in the area, it would be a shame to miss it out. The easiest way – but one that could take more than eight hours – is the Mountain Track, but the exciting ascent via Carn Mor Dearg and its arête is one of Scotland’s classic scrambles, but only for experienced scramblers. Glen Nevis offers excellent low-level walking and there’s always Neptune’s Staircase and the lower reaches of the Great Glen Way. For more information go to www.walkscotland.co.uk/fortwilliam
