Rip It Up!

-

This summer, the National Museum of Scotland is hosting a major exhibition dedicated to Scotland’s pop music – Rip It Up.

“There are so many amazing exhibits on display,” explains Stephen Allen, curator of the exhibition. “There are over 300 artefacts – from Lulu’s custom-made trouser suit to a guitar smashed up by the Biffy Clyro boys at Reading in 2012. However, my favourite has to be Eugene from The Rezillos’ green jumpsuit.

“One of my clearest memories of being 13 involves watching Eugene wearing that jumpsuit on Top of the Pops and looking and sounding so cool.”

Rip It Up is at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh from June 22 until November 25, 2018 and is supported by Baillie Gifford Investment Managers. For more information, visit www.nms.ac.uk/ripitup
