Mark’s Top Tips:

● Make friends with a chimney sweep. Soot is a great defence against slugs.

● Plant nasturtium­s with your cabbages as they act as decoys for blackfly who will then leave the vegetables alone

● Regularly dead-head your roses especially after wet weather to prolong the flowering period.

● Don’t try and fight nature. Just go with it!

● Use a plant called Isatis Tinctoria which secretes a pheromone from its roots that keeps moles away from the garden.
