Christmas At The Botanics

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, November 23 – December 29 (with closures on some dates – check website for details).

This stunning event played to five-star reviews when it burst colourfully on to the scene last year, and 2018 promises to be even better, with more than a million lights installed throughout the Edinburgh gardens. The team at the Botanics have created a magical walk through the grounds, including a “cathedral of light” containing more than 100,000 illuminations, a scented fire garden and a festive finale up at Inverleith House, with projections and music. The guided walk is around 1.5km (one mile) and is suitable for all ages. Extras along the way include Santa and his elves, hot chocolate for the youngsters, and mulled wine and spiced cider for the adults. Details:
