THE Scots Magazine is the oldest in the world still in publication, with its first issue appearing in 1739. Everyone I know is bored of me telling them this. You’re probably tired of hearing it, too – I think I’ve mentioned it here more than once…

But it’s an incredible thought, that this magazine is almost 280 years old. It pre-dates Culloden and is older than the USA. It’s like a living piece of Scotland’s cultural heritage. It’s also YOUR magazine – you buy it, you read it, and that’s why The Scots Magazine is still thriving after all these years.
