Makar Discusses Bantam, Saturday November 10, Scotland’s national poet Jackie Kay will be joining the Hoolie to delight audiences with her beautiful words. After winning a multitude of awards for her first poetry collection The Adoption Papers, including the Forward Prize and a Saltire award, and then being shortlisted for the prestigious Costa Award for her 2011 collection Fiere, Jackie has returned with yet another book of exquisite poetry. Bantam is the first collection that the poet has realeased since taking on the prestigious role of Makar in 2016 and looks at the many roads that we take in life, and how they mould and shape us.
