Pitlochry’s associate director Gemma Fairlie brings the essence of the 1939 MGM film starring Judy Garland to the stage for this musical extravaganza, which was initially adapted for the Royal Shakespeare Company. All the film’s favourites, from Toto and the Tin Man to the Wicked Witch and her flying monkeys, are brought to life, accompanied by Arlen and Harburg’s classic songs. The theatre is laying on transport for its matinée performances from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and Perth, while circus workshops and children’s storytelling sessions completes the theatre’s festive line-up.
