Wendy And Peter Pan
Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh
Director Eleanor Rhode adds a sprinkling of festive fairy dust to this production of JM Barrie’s story of the boy who never grows up, adapted here for the stage by Ella Hickson. In this version Wendy gets a leading role, fearlessly flying in to take on Captain Hook and the pirates in a swashbuckling adventure suitable for all ages. Rhode, who, like Hickson and Barrie, studied in Edinburgh, says the Lyceum’s version of Neverland will be “a bit rough and ready”, a lot like the Scottish capital – “magical and a bit wild”.
