Queen Anne Doll

-

Lyn says, “This is the oldest doll in our collection, from the 18th century. Although most children at this time would have had home-made dolls carved from wood or made from cloth, this doll is an early example of a professionally made doll, carved from wood, with elaborate clothes and glass eyes. It would have been expensive to buy, and a precious possession. She is dressed in the fashionable clothes and shape of the day, just as a Barbie doll today reflects current trends and styles.”
