National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Clark Griswold wants to have a perfect family Christmas. Things go awry quickly with unexpected family arrivals, gaffers reneging on a holiday bonus and bone-crunching sledging accidents. The classic moment for me is the Griswold’s Christmas light illuminations – dazzling the neighbourhood. It’s reminiscent of Bombay Sapphire, which, in the late 1980s, provided the spark that would ignite a once-dry and dreary drink category. A blue bottle and juniper-light profile makes a thoroughly decent gin. Here’s to good old Clark.
