Witch Hunt
In the August issue, there was a reference to Helen Duncan, who was called Scotland’s last witch. The article also mentioned Maggie Wall, a native of Dunning. There was another woman from the same location in the 16th century called Isobel Haldane. She moved to Perth and was tried for witchcraft, found guilty and burned at the stake on Perth’s North Inch.
