With a title meaning “together” in his native Rivoltano Lombardy dialect, the debut album from double bassist Roberto Cassani blends the endangered minority language of northern Italy with musical traditions of his adopted home of Perthshire.

Tom Vevers, Space and Time EP, self-released, May 26. A mental health crisis forced Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Tom Vevers into self-isolation long before Covid-19 hit. The resulting EP has a cathartic fullness that belies the DIY nature of its creation.

Buffet Lunch, The Power of Rocks, Upset The Rhythm, 7 May. This DIY four-piece, from Edinburgh and Glasgow, promise “satisfying­ly imperfect pop songs” in the same irreverent vein as The Fall.

Vicky Gray, Atlaness EP, self-released, out now.

The debut solo EP from Shetland-born fiddler and composer is partly a reworking of tunes she learned from her late grandfathe­r, Gilbert “Gibby” Gray.
