WHAT WE DO

-

DAILY FESTIVAL COVERAGE

Welcome to our daily

Festival magazine, which runs until Saturday 24 August. Here you’ll find more Fringe reviews than anywhere else, by one of the most experienced and respected teams of critics at the festival, plus daily Book Festival and International Festival coverage, picks of the day and 24-hour listings.

THE FRINGE FIRST AWARDS

The Scotsman’s Fringe First awards recognise outstanding new stage writing premiered on the Fringe, and remain the most prestigious theatre awards at the festival. Because of our commitment to the Fringe Firsts, we review more theatre, dance, and musicals than we do comedy – but we still review significantly more comedy than any other newspaper.

THE SCOTSMAN BEST OF THE FEST

Now in its third year, The

Scotsman’s Best of the Fest show consists entirely of performers given four- and five-star reviews by our critics. The format means the show tends more towards comedy, cabaret and music than theatre, but for a snapshot of the best of the Fringe, we recommend you join us at Assembly George Square every Monday afternoon at 1:20pm. See page 13.
