Smith hails public response
LORD Smith of Kelvin’s commission, set up to find ways of boosting Holyrood’s powers has received more than 14,000 e-mails and letters and over 250 submissions from Scotland’s institutions.
Lord Smith said he was “delighted” by the massive response to his commission, which was established to come up with the package of new powers promised by the proUnion parties in the run-up to the referendum.
Scotland’s main political parties – SNP, Labour, the Tories, Lib Dems and Greens – are in discussions to agree a new constitutional settlement.
