£1.5m tag on Edwyn Collins’ town house

- ANGUS HOWARTH

SCOTS singer Edwyn Collins has put his three-storey London home up for sale with a £1.5 million price tag, after deciding to relocate to Scotland.

Collins, who suffered two near-fatal strokes in 2005, is setting up a new home in Helms- dale, Sutherland, with wife Grace Maxwell after more than two decades south of the Border.

The 55-year-old former Orange Juice frontman bought the terraced home in London’s Kilburn area for £176,000 in June 1996. Property prices in the capital have soared since then.

Interior pictures of the

four- bedroom house, which has a roof terrace and cellar, display Collins’ love of music.

The living room has a hi-fi system with vintage speakers. Two guitars are seen perched next to a traditional fireplace in another room. There is also an electric guitar and drum kit in one of the bedrooms.
