Europe clears way for Zimbabwe aid

THE European Union will take another step towards normal relations with Zimbabwe today, by ending restrictions on aid, paving the way for £184 million of new funding, officials have confirmed.

The agreement was made to encourage political reform. The EU has kept an asset freeze and a travel ban on president Robert Mugabe and his wife, Grace.
