SO CRISIS talks are to be held by the Scottish Government and Fife Council in response to the collapse of Tullis Russell papermakers. The obvious question – as with Longannet earlier this year – is where on earth have the Scottish Government and Fife Council been?

Why weren’t they helping Tullis Russell long before now as it has been in trouble for months, if not years? No one needs the cavalry after the massacre. LINDA HOLT Pittenweem Anstruther
