Branching out

-

IT WAS good to learn that Jane Howard, managing director of branch banking at RBS, is “constantly looking for ways to adapt and improve service for its customers” (your report, 28 April).

The installation of self-service terminals may be beneficial to some customers, however business customers are unlikely to welcome the coincounting units now being introduced as part of the latest development within branches.

At least the staff are available to explain the overly tortuous paying-in process, but how much longer will this supposed improved service continue? IAN DUNCANSON
