Scottish restaurant that boasts A-list stars among its diners is up for sale
A RESTAURANT which boasts one of the best views in Britain and counts Michelle Pfeiffer and Billy Connolly among diners is for sale at offers over £550,000.
The Badachro Inn, Wester Ross, has featured in the Michelin Best Pub Guide and was listed by Camilla Parker Bowles’ son Tom as one of the top five places to eat in the UK.
The B-grade listed inn has a conservatory and a wooden deck over the sea where visitors enjoy spectacular views of Badachro Bay, Loch Gairloch. The property also includes a threebedroomed flat, and the traditional bar area with a real fireplace dates from the mid-1800s.
Martyn and Lesley Pearson, the inn’s current owners, have run it since the late 1990s but are now moving to semi-retirement, and will instead spend 12 weeks each year cooking for private guests at exclusive shooting lodges.
The estate agent describes the inn as perfect for a professional chef or husband and wife team, as it boasts a net turnover for the year ending September 2014 of £334,772.
Martyn, 58, said: “We’ve had a great time at Badachro, but we want to move on to new ventures and know that there is someone who will love this place as much as we have.
“Blowing it’s own trumpet, it’s the best pub in Scotland. Views, seafood – it really couldn’t get any better.
He added: “We get a lot of well-known people. We had Michelle Pfeiffer in when they were filming Stardust up here. We had lots in last year, because they were filming What We Did On Our Holiday with Billy Connolly.
